Yeah for having random time to work on stuff. I feel like I have a ton of stuff to do and then I don't really do anything. Probably because I think I'm coming down with something.

Anyhoo...TPE 2

You can find it here or there

Enjoy!

That's how much I was quoted as the price it would cost me to recover data off my harddrive.

Ugh...

I can say no completely and get my drive back.

I can pick specific files and hope that those ones are okay.

I can pay the whole amount.

It definitely won't be the last one. I'm thinking I will just ask for it back and maybe ask somewhere else for a price quote. As much as I would love to have my stuff back, I'm not sure if it is worth that much. 'Cause, that's a lot of money that I don't have.

This will delay the release of TPE chapter 2 too. I do have it in my hands, but I have to do some thinking.

One of my hard drives dead. RIP. However...and this a one of those bad, long, drawn out, solemn-sounding howevers...

It was the hard drive that had copies of all of my fan fic on it.

*Sobs silently*

I'm working on recovering it. The good news is that Chatper 2 of TPE was sent out to my beta, so, there is a copy of that out there. And I hadn't started typing out chapter 3.

The bad news is that DD was on there. It's gone for now. Also, my little drabble at trying to type out a possible epilogue for TGO is also gone.

Let's all take a moment...

I can't wait.

This month really sucked for me, in all areas.

No money, no time and a lot of stress.

I just couldn't keep up.

I went away for the weekend.

It was nice.

I think I'll be able to proritize a bit more this coming month.

I kinda went to Sakura-con. My sister came with my boytoy, his fam and I. My sister is anti-anime. She is very anti-anime, so she was a bit of a downer the entire time. Couldn't watch anything because she wasn't interested. The only thing she did like was the classic gaming, just because she has played Mario Bros. 3 and Dr. Mario before. Other than that, nope.

I don't think she understood how people could be that involved with not just a show, but a way of life. I tried to explain it to her, but, since it wasn't America's Next Top Model or Justin Timberlake, she didn't care. Though, we did sit through Akira and she was like 'Kayne West's video was like this.' and I told her that he stole it from Akira hoping that maybe she was interested. Her response: 'I don't like Kayne West.'

Can't say I didn't try.

Maybe next year.

Now that I've refixed my computer, I can finally do all of those things that I had somewhat planned to do while it should've been working.

First off.....

Banners )

Next on the agenda,

I have a new story out. The Principle of Existence. I think I might have forgotten the quote that inspired the title. After a small discussion with my beta, we both decided that putting the quote in each chapter would be helpful. I don't know why I like to use quotes as inspiration for titles. The real inspiration for the story is real life. I just twisted it up a bit.

I was in the middle of typing out chapter 2 when my computer went wonky on me and just stopped doing what I needed it to. And it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do. I tried system restore a bunch of times, but whatever I accidentally downloaded (I'm assuming that's what happened) messed with that ability, so I ended up having to do some gateway recovery thing. I did the option that was supposed to save my data files and just reset the computer back to its factory settings. At first I didn't think it worked until I found the folder. So all is good.

Chapter 2 however will be placed on hold as I am trying to get to Seattle this weekend to attend Sakura-Con, Seattle's anime convention. I normally wouldn't go, however, Ali Project is going to be there and I like their music. So, maybe, I can get a pic and autograph. I could care less about the English speaking voice actors. I don't even know who they are and wouldn't be able to place them to any particular show since I refuse to watch anime in English.

I'm halfway through the chapter and need to look up some more info for the second half, so maybe it'll be in the hands of my beta sometime soon.

Today, it was overcast, then it snowed, a lot, rained, so it all melted, the sun came out, clouds returned and then it hailed all within a five hour span of time. Gotta love spring, I guess. It's still too cold for me. I thought March was supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. Lamb must be angry or something.

Thank you everyone who voted for TGO in the latest IYFG polls. Voting ended and the outcomes have been posted. I was really surprised by how well TGO did considering the insane amount of great stories out there.

Anywhere, here is how TGO made out after everything.

TGO was nominted in three categories...

TGO placed second in Best AU/AR.
TGO placed third for Best Characterization (Kagome).
And finally, TGO placed second in Best Romance (Inuyasha/Kagome).

Thank you all once again for voting and being cool like that.

I have the first chapter of my new story in the hands of my beta, so that should be up soon. And I think I might have one other story up as well, as well as getting to DD. But the sun is coming out and my dog is taking me outside. So, I'll have to get a chair and write outside.

Thank you all so much once again. It's a real honor.

Voting started today for the 4th Quarter IYFG awards. Looking at the polls I never realized exactly how many stories were nominated this quarter. It's awesome. Lots of good stories to read...one day.

There is some strange sickness going around. I swear, everyone has it, even me. I can't even get a moment...

I put my serger together (finally!) and made some shirts for work. When I find my camera, I post some pictures. It's what I do when my mind gets all mushy from research.

I hope everyone is doing well. My sister is coming over to visit me this weekend. She'll end up moving in with my boytoy and I when she's finished with school. So, she'll be scoping out the place, picking out paint colors, blah blah. She has a crush on that Ty guy formerly of Trading Spaces and now on that show on ABC. She's all for home decor.

Writing news for me...I should have a new chapter ready to be scrutinzed in a week or two. I'm going for the two. I'm working nights for the next two, three weeks training a new person for my area. Fun times.

The snow is finally melting. There was so much of it, it's been two weeks since our last snowfall. My dog is excited. She doesn't like the thick snow. She finally sees grass to run around in.

Toodles...

...though I don't really feel like it. I was sick, had teeth pulled and felt a billion times better only to get sick again. And it's more along the flu type sickness: achy muscles, sore throat, ears that won't pop...

I have been writing, though not enough to post anything officially yet. It's hard to concentrate when all you want to do is sleep. It sucks too because my mind is racing with ideas and things the characters could be saying to each other. Oh well...hopefully soon.

In other news, the secondings for IYFG 4th Quarter Awards are closed. TGO was both nominated and seconded in the AU/AR category, Best Romance Inuyasha/Kagome, and Best Characterization for Kagome.

Here's the nifty banner made for this

I hope to have something up soon, but, no promises. First, though, that I just remembered, there's this book I need to order...

I arrived at work, got started and then was told that we are having a Snow Day. Which is weird because the regional director for my company lives in Spokane and the word is that she would never close down a center (there are two here), and would go out and pick people up to drive them to work. Guess she didn't want to do that today.

We have a ridiculously amount of snow. It's almost up to my knee and that's 18 inches. It snowed quite a bit last night, but it has stopped for now, though more is predicted.

My appointment to have my teeth extracted is for tomorrow. I hope they don't cancel that. I can walk to the building, so no big deal. I think my teeth is why I haven't been able to do anything creative these last couple of weeks. I have stories to write, a quilt to sew and all kinds of other things that I want to do, but instead, I just sit and watch my boytoy play Call of Duty 4. He has a mouth that might make Inuyasha blush. *inspiration*

I am hoping that after my teeth are pulled and I heal up pretty good I can get back into the swing of things...

Also, second has started for the Inuyasha Fan Guild. I can't remember what TGO was nominated into. I feel bad for that, but, I've felt so blah lately that I barely touch my computer and that's saying something. I'm so badly addicted to my computer. And to Pepsi.

I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I can get something posted this year. I just want it to be warm out again...

So...how's it going with everyone? Hope the new year has started treating you all good.

For me...well...it seemed like it would be good. Ah, but you see, 'seems' is a funny word.

Lots of good things had happened, but the not so good is creeping up on me.

I wanted to get a new story posted by the end of the month. Yeah, that is not happening. Sorry. First, no title. Second, way more research involved than TGO. *sigh*. Thirdly, I got sick there for about a week and did nothing. And now, I got a broken tooth with an exposed root. Yeah for emergency dental surgery. I don't know when that is happening (soon, please), but, I know that it'll take me out for a day or two.

Good things have been happening though too. I had a birthday. I know I'm supposed to be older, but, growing up is overrated. As long as I know when to be mature and responsible and when I can have fun, then it's all good. I chopped my hair off. And I got a serger from the boytoy. He always knows exactly what I want.

Oh, and it's really really cold here. I don't like the cold.

As for my currently untitled project...ooooh, it needs a code name, like Cloverfield (a movie I haven't seen). Let's see...Cloverfield is the name of a street...but I've always lived on numerical streets, so that won't work. Oh, I got it. My next big story will be called 'Maplewood' and that is the name of the elementary school I went to.

With 'Maplewood', what I want to do is write out the first couple of chapters, just to get me a bit ahead of the game. It'll probably be like TGO with monthly updates. Either that, or I write it all at once. Nah, I doubt I could do that.

In the mean time, I have DD and another one that I can't seem to let go of, or, actually, it can't let go of me. That story I might post just to keep people aware of the fact that I still plan on writing.

Anyhoo...thanks for all of the greatness you showered on me with the finale of TGO. That was cool. And thanks for the b-day wishes.

I hate the dentist....

Not for presidents. Though, if you can, you probably should vote for that. Eh...another time.

No, it's time for IYFG voting. Yeah for democracy and stuff.

Anyhoo...TGO has already been nominated. Thanks to muteki-sama for that. TGO is up for best AU/AR, Best Characterization for Kagome, and Best Romance Inuyasha/Kagome. I think that's the most times I've had that story nominated in one quarter.

It's kinda exciting.

What's also exciting...I'm writing new stuff. Woot for new stuff.

Back to new stuff.

I started three new stories.  ::sigh:: It seems it's going to be one of those months. I haven't made up my mind yet which one I will dive into and devote every free moment I can spare for it and leave the others behind. And, for some odd reason, I like to have a title for my stories right away. I don't know why. It doesn't seem like that important of a thing, but, for me it is. For the story that is 'winning', I have a couple of title options available for me to choose from. Maybe when I get the chapter researched (yes, it's another research involved story) and written, I'll know for sure.

As for looking in...these thingies....

Some things about TGO you might not have known...

I used that Carl Sandburg quote for the title. I had to switch the apostrophe around from God's to Gods' so that it would tie in with the religion of Japan.

Kagome's profression was influenced by TV. I was at my bf's parents house watching PBS when a show came on about cooking.  Check the website out here for some of the recipes that I borrowed and didn't borrow...

I think the gods had their own opinion about this story. Everytime I was doing research and reading the news, there was an article about pregnancy. Inuaysha having her eat ice cream at her graduation party...inspired. Inuyasha's research...more inspiration. Just makes that story that much more realistic I guess.

Before I could have Kagome run KenSen...I had to draw it out, create hours for it as well as a menu. I didn't finish the menu, but I searched all types of houseware sites like Linens n' Things, Bed, Bath and Beyond, for flatware ideas. Anyone need floor plans for a restaurant?

Inuyasha's apartment...same thing. Had to be drawn out. Well, some of it. Some of it I borrowed from a book. And, it will tie into the next story that I may write. Just one of those things authors do to connect their stories.

Some quick shot outs...the internet. Really. Just because I post the story on the internet. Or that because of the internet I found a beta, but the internet allowed me to do my research quickly and effeciently.

Real life. My goal was to create a story that was as real as I could make it while keeping certain characteristics about the characters intact. Very little was fudged to make it work. Even the miko thing. There's already a slight curve to the space-time line, I just took advantage of that.

My dog. And my dog in heat. I don't think I need to elaborate. Mother Nature's inspiration.

And my boytoy, who allowed me to play dictator with the computer when I had to get this typed, for answering all of my bizarre questions about men and their crazy behavior.

That's it for this year. I'm already dabbling in other stories since the next book in a series I'm reading isn't out yet. I read too damn fast. I read all five of the books in a four week span. I'll get up informed about that.

Now, I need some titles...

The End has come. It is the end of the year. It was a strange year for me. I moved into a house. I got a job. I got my dog back. Things went pretty well I think. Now, if I could only win the lottery and use that money to pay off my student loans...

It is also the end of TGO. TGO was originally published on ff.net on December 7, 2006. So, a little more than a year. And I'm publishing the last chapter on the last day of the year. Yeah, I'm good like that.

I want to thank everyone for your support. Thanks.

As for next year, I have three almost four stories that I'm playing around with. The one that sticks is the winner since I doubt I could handle those four, plus DD. Who knows, 2008 might be that good to me.

So, without anymore blah-blah, here's Chapter 29: Unwritten found at these respective places.

ff.net and mm.org

Enjoy and I wish everyone the best day and a lucky New Year's.

Hooray! for Chapter 28 of TGO.

You can find the newest chapter at FF.net and mm.org.

Reviews for those at mm.org will be responded to after the holidays. I'm a little busy. Busier than I thought I would get. Oh well... better than being bored.

Chapter 29, the final chapter will be in the hands of my beta before the end of the year. It's about 1/3 of the way typed out. I'll probably finish typing it out on Sunday and Monday. I've got that little Xmas party to get ready for.

I hope you enjoy it. I think a lot of you will be surprised and then go 'Oh, why didn't I think of it'. I went through all of the reviews I've received for this story and well...I'm a bit surprised that no one even suggested it.

As always, props to my beta [info]renagrrl7and her amazing skills. I definitely don't have her editing patience and I'm totally thankful for her this holiday season ::smiles all around::

Thanks for reading...Enjoy

So I lied...

Back a few posts I said something along the lines of having Chapter 28 ready quickly...like, around the Thanksgiving holiday (at least to my beta) and well...that never happened.

But...and it's a good but...I couldn't stop writing. Once Chapter 28 was finished, I just had to finish Chapter 29. And I did...today, sometime right before noon.

I am planning a Christmas party for the 22nd, and I think tomorrow I will make cards. But, if I don't get to the store for card invitation supplies, I will be typing two chapters up. I want to have both typed before the 22nd. That's my goal. That's before the end of the year.

It'll be my first time hosting a real Christmas party, with people from work invited. I'm so nervous. Ack! So much to do. First things first...type...my wrists are going to fall off...
